Research interests

My research interests center on the ways philosophy, language, and storytelling intersect. I work primarily on ancient philosophy, with a focus on early Stoicism (Zeno, Cleanthes, and Chrysippus). I am especially interested in the ontology of evil, theories of vice, causality, and happiness, and in how the Stoics developed a theology and ethics that attempted to reconcile determinism, freedom, and the existence of suffering. Much of my work is philological, grounded in the close reading of Greek and Latin fragments, but I also examine how these debates resonate with later traditions in philosophy of religion and ethics.

Alongside this, I pursue research in narrative, myth, and aesthetics. I study how philosophy communicates through myth, allegory, and imagery, and I extend this into contemporary contexts by exploring how philosophical concepts can be translated into modern storytelling forms—literature, music, and visual media.

I am also deeply invested in pedagogy and language teaching, particularly in how storytelling and cultural imagination can shape language learning. This connects with my broader interest in communication and education, both ancient and modern: how ideas are transmitted, how they are reinterpreted, and how narrative can serve as a bridge between technical philosophy and lived human experience.
