Project Details
Description
Dr Fiona McDonagh, Dr Dorothy Morrissey, Dr Ailbhe Kenny and MIC’s theatre artist in residence, Liam McCarthy, worked with teachers in St Brigid’s NS and St Patrick’s Boys’ NS, on an integrated approach to arts education entitled Jub's story. This story was adapted by Dr Morrissey from The lost happy endings by Carol Ann Duffy and Jane Ray (with the permission of the publishers). The initiative seeks to address ways in which an integrated arts curriculum can be implemented in primary schools, in line with forthcoming curriculum specifications. It represents a development of successful pop-up storytelling events at Lime Tree in October 2022 and 2023, and is being undertaken in collaboration with Lime Tree Theatre and Limerick Education Support Centre. Classes from both schools will perform Jub’s story at Lime Tree Theatre on 13 June 2024.
